Description
This folly, located approximately 80 metres to the north-east of Hazlewood Castle, dates from the mid to late 18th century and is believed to have been designed by John Carr. It is constructed from dressed magnesian limestone with ashlar dressings and has no roof. The structure is octagonal in shape and features a plinth. There are two entrances: one has a trefoil head but is now blocked, while the other is a straight-headed entrance that was added later. A continuous sill band runs around the building. The other sides have blocked trefoil-headed windows with blind oculi above them. The folly is topped with a cornice and battlements and was formerly part of the Hazlewood Castle Estate.
