Description

No. 40 Bondgate is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with a pantile roof and features brick stacks. The building has a through-passage, a two-cell plan, and a rear outshut. It stands two storeys high and has two windows on the first floor. The entrance consists of a four-panel door flanked by casement windows, which have wooden lintels. On the first floor, there are squat three-light Yorkshire sashes. The left end has a stack.
