Description

No. 42 Bondgate is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of sandstone and limestone rubble, with some brick infilling, and features a pantile roof and brick stacks. The building has a direct end-entry plan with a rear outshut. It stands two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. On the ground floor, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door to the left, and to the right, there are two three-light Yorkshire sash windows with wooden lintels. The first floor also has three-light Yorkshire sash windows. The roof is swept, and there is a stack at the left end. This house is included for its group value.
