Description

Stocks located approximately 5 metres east of the south gates to the church in Kildwick, possibly dating from the 17th century. They are made of gritstone and consist of two pillars with a lower rail still intact, along with a stone floorboard featuring four recesses. The pillars are about 1 metre high, square in section, and slightly tapering, with a groove on the inside face and iron staples on the south face. The stocks were likely relocated to this site when the Garden of Remembrance was established in 1950.
