Description

The brick kiln at Brickyard Farm is a structure dating from around 1840. It is built from limestone rubble with brick dressings and features internal vaults. The kiln consists of two chambers, each approximately 3 to 4 metres high. There are round-arched entrances at both ends and twelve round-arched flues on either side, although some of the brick facing is now missing. The interior has barrel-vaulted chambers and the structure was in a ruinous state at the time of the last survey.
