Description
The Stonehouse, located 15 yards southeast of Wordsworth House, is a 17th-century house that was being used for storage at the time of the survey. The building is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins. It has an original roof pitch covered in graduated slates, which has been extended upwards to create a monopitch roof finished in Welsh slate. The structure is single storey and has a raised rear elevation to form a loft, featuring three bays. The symmetrical front elevation includes a plank door flanked by two-light mullioned windows, all set within chamfered stone surrounds. The building also has coved eaves. The Stonehouse is part of a group with the Stone House barn, surrounding a cobbled yard.
