Description

Raines Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with later alterations primarily from the 19th century. The exterior features a pebbledash finish and a graduated greenslate roof with a stone ridge and two end chimneys, the one on the right projecting. The building has two storeys and three windows, which are 19th-century sashes with glazing bars.

At the center, there is a gabled porch with engaged columns that support a segmental arched entrance. The door consists of one stellar panel and one square panel, deeply moulded, and includes an ornamental latch plate within a deeply moulded architrave. To the left, there is a single-storey extension with 20th-century openings.

Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams and bacon hooks. An oak stair runs up to the attic, featuring a moulded closed string, a square newel, a ramped and moulded handrail, and a curved bottom step. The four-bay roof has principals that are halved and pegged at the ridge, with slightly curved collars, a ridge piece, and three levels of purlins.
