Description
Sellet Hall is a farmhouse, likely dating from the late 16th century, with subsequent alterations and additions spanning several periods. It includes a staircase wing from the 17th century and a mid-19th century extension to the south, at a lower level. The exterior is roughcast render over rubble, with a graduated greenslate roof, a stone ridge, and two projecting end chimneys on the main house. A single chimney serves the extension. The building is two stories high and has three windows, arranged irregularly. Most windows are 2- or 4-light cross windows with chamfered mullions and surrounds, either directly glazed or with iron opening casements. Hood moulds with labels extend over two upper-floor windows on the left. A central, probably 19th-century stone porch has a slate roof, side benches, and a board door. The 19th-century extension features casements on each floor and a lean-to porch with a board door. The rear staircase wing has three windows, one of which is blocked, also featuring chamfered mullions and surrounds under hood moulds with labels. The interior contains chamfered beams, an oak staircase with a closed string and turned balusters to the landing and lower flight, square newels topped with acorns on the landing, a board door with strap hinges, and a spice cupboard with a 17th-century panelled door.
