Description
Sellet Hall Bridge is a canal bridge built in 1818 by engineer John Fletcher, based on the original designs of John Rennie, whose route for the Lancaster/Kendal Canal was authorized in 1792. The bridge is constructed from squared, coursed limestone and features a limestone string and coping. It has a single elliptical arch with rusticated voussoirs and a keystone, and arched parapets. The bridge is approximately 10 feet wide between the parapets. Currently, the canal is dry.
