Description
Two houses, likely originally one dwelling, dating from the early to mid-19th century in Ulverston. The exterior is pebbledashed with painted stone dressings, capped by a slate roof. The building is three storeys high and three bays wide. The windows are sash windows within painted surrounds, featuring projecting sills. Ground-floor window openings are arched with a segmental shape, and a sill band runs across the first floor. The windows in the left-hand bay are tripartite (divided into three), while those in the right-hand bay are paired. The doorways are arranged in pairs, with a shared doorcase of three engaged Tuscan columns, supporting an entablature. The doorcase is painted, but the left-hand doorway might be a later addition, suggested by a joint in the entablature and the appearance of the left-hand column being made of timber. The doors themselves are made of six raised and fielded panels. Above the left-hand door is a plain window, and above the right-hand door is a fanlight. Chimneys are situated on the left and right sides of the building.
