Description
This barn and outbuilding, likely from the 18th century, is located on the south side of the Queen's Arms Hotel in Biggar Village, Walney Island. It is constructed from cobbles and rubble, featuring quoins and a graduated slate roof. The structure is an elongated range with both one and two stories under the same roofline. The left section is whitewashed and includes a blind window with a projecting sill and a segmental arch, positioned to the left of two doorways that flank external stone steps, with a boarded doorway leading off the landing. The barn on the right has a square-headed wagon entrance with double doors, quoined jambs, and a wooden lintel. This building is included for its group value.
