Description
This is a house located at 19 Biggar Village on Walney Island, dating from the mid-18th century and altered in the 19th century. The exterior features roughcast over stone with a graduated slate roof. The building has two storeys and three windows on the first floor. The ground floor includes two square-headed doorways and three boarded-up windows, one of which is a 6-pane sash window on the left. The first floor has a 6-pane sash window, a plain sash window, and boarded windows. The gable copings on the left are made of ashlar and rise to a rebuilt brick end stack, while there is a brick ridge stack to the right of the centre.
Inside, there is a boxed-in spine beam on the left side of the ground floor, and collared principal-rafter trusses, one of which has a tie beam that has been cut away. A shallow, curved recess near the current stair likely indicates where the original spiral stair was located. The building was derelict at the time of the last survey.
