Description
White House and adjoining barn is a building that dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of wet-dashed rubble and features a graduated slate roof with stone-flagged eaves, stone copings, and stone chimneys at the mid and ends. At the rear, there is an outshut that includes a 20th-century flat-roofed dormer. The original symmetrical front of the two-storey, three-bay house has a 20th-century panelled central door set in a surround with pilasters that support a broken pediment. The windows are sashes with glazing bars, all set in stone surrounds. To the left is a former two-bay cottage, which was later used as a post office, and it has had 20th-century sashes inserted that are similar to the main house windows. Adjoining the north end is a later 19th-century outbuilding with a hay loft, built from coursed, squared rubble and topped with a Welsh slate roof.
