Description

Priory House is an 18th-century house situated on Priest Lane, Lower Allithwaite, near Cartmel Priory. It is constructed of roughcast stone with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high, with five bays. It features an eaves band and a high, coped parapet. The windows are sash windows with horns. The entrance is distinguished by Doric half-columns, entablature blocks, and a pediment, sheltering an eight-panel door with the top two panels glazed. Gable-end stacks are present. Lead rainwater heads and downspouts are also part of the exterior. The left return side, facing the Priory Church, is blind. The rear elevation presents a gable over a lean-to outshut and an oriel window to the inner angle.
