Description
The Cottage at Nunwick Hall is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with early 18th century and 20th century alterations. It features whitewashed rubble walls, while an extension has painted render with red sandstone V-jointed quoins. The roof is made of Welsh slate, with the bottom courses consisting of sandstone slates. There are banded red sandstone ashlar chimney stacks on original stone bases. The building is two storeys high and has four bays, with a rear two-storey, single-bay extension that includes an early 18th century square rusticated pier topped with a ball finial. The front of the house has small windows in original sandstone surrounds; the windows on the left are smaller fire windows, and one on the ground floor has been enlarged. The extension features a 20th century door and a 20th century flat stone-mullioned window.
