Description
Johnby Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1747, as inscribed over the rear doorway. It is constructed from a mix of pink and calciferous sandstone rubble with flush quoins, topped by a graduated greenslate roof featuring a banded sandstone ashlar ridge and end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and two bays, with 2- and 4-light stone-mullioned windows under a continuous hood, and similar 2- and 3-light windows above. The right return wall includes a panelled door and overlight set in a 19th-century alternate-block surround, along with a gable string course. The rear of the farmhouse has an internal panelled door with a dated lintel. The 19th-century extensions at the rear are not of interest.
