Description
Redhill Limekilns, located 120 metres southeast of Slapestones roundabout, is a limekiln block dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of rubble limestone and features a kiln block with two pairs of arched openings, which include two or possibly three draw arches and one access tunnel. Above these openings, there are two or perhaps three charging holes, all of which are currently blocked. Two of the lower openings are partially blocked, but the ones on the left contain the draw holes. Additionally, there are two low buttresses that are later additions.
