Description
Grassnop and the adjoining barns are a farmhouse and barns built in the mid-18th century, with early 19th-century extensions to the barns. The structure features red sandstone rubble walls topped with a graduated greenslate roof and has banded stone chimney stacks. The farmhouse is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with L-shaped barns attached to the left under a common roof. There is an off-centre 20th-century door set in a stone surround, along with two- and three-light flat stone-mullioned windows, one of which has 19th-century alterations. The barns have plank doors and slit vents. The rear of the barns includes two large projecting cart entrances flanked by slit vents on two levels. The stable extension to the right of the house is not of interest.
