MARKET STREET (West side) Ellers House (Formerly Listed as: NEVILLE STREET Nos.4-8 (Even))

Formerly known as: No.8 NEVILLE STREET. House, now used as offices. Probably late C18, altered. Painted roughcast with painted ashlar dressings and slate roof. 2 storeys and 5 bays. The windows are sashed in narrow stone surrounds with segmental heads and projecting sills. The door, of 4 raised and fielded panels and 2 glazed panels, is set within a pedimented stone doorcase with engaged Tuscan columns. To the right is an entrance to a passageway, with a painted stone surround and segmental head. The left-hand gable is coped and has a chimney. INTERIOR: not fully inspected, but the ground floor is greatly altered.
