Number 23 on Devonshire Street is an 18th-century building that adjoins the George Hotel. It is constructed of painted red sandstone with quoins and stands three storeys tall. The building features a small modern shop front and a shouldered archway leading to a yard on the right. On each upper floor, there are four sash windows set within plain stone architraves.
