Description
Nos 5 and 6 on Devonshire Street are late 19th-century buildings featuring an early 20th-century Edwardian shop front. They stand three storeys tall and are constructed of red sandstone ashlar with blocked eaves and a slate roof. The top floor has four windows framed by stone architraves and a band at sill level. The first floor features a glazed wall with a central pilaster, a cornice, and two large three-light windows with iron mullions, capitals, bases, and curved heads. There are side pilasters above the ground and first floors. The ground floor includes two doors and large shop windows with iron mullions, along with a yard entry to the right. These buildings are noted for their group value.
