Description

The farm buildings located to the south-east of High Farmhouse consist of two barns with attached farm structures, likely built in the mid-18th century, with some alterations and extensions from the 19th century. The buildings are situated on a site that slopes in two directions. The earlier barn is oriented roughly north-south, featuring its main entrance on the east side and a shippon at the southern end, which is downhill. The later barn is positioned at a right angle to the west of the earlier barn, with its upper level accessible through the threshing door of the earlier barn. This later barn has cart entrances on both the north and south sides. The slope of the land allows for an underhoused shippon beneath the western end of the structure.

To the north of the barns is a smaller two-storey workshop, while to the south are additional shippons covered with corrugated sheet roofs. The main barn's entrance doors have plain reveals and timber lintels, protected by a slated canopy. To the left of the entrance, there is a shippon door and a window, both featuring plain reveals and hit-and-miss vents. On the right side, the front wall is partially obscured by a later lean-to extension. Inside, the main barn has a roof supported by pine bolted king-post trusses. High Farmhouse itself is not included in this listing.
