Description

Holme House is a farmhouse dated 1778, featuring the initials T.B. It is constructed from dressed red sandstone with a graduated slate roof and has brick and stone chimney stacks. The building stands two storeys high and consists of five bays. The entrance is prominently adorned with a heavily moulded, ornamented, and dentilled surround made of white sandstone, topped with a dated pediment and a panelled door. The sash windows, which include glazing bars, have plain surrounds. Notable architectural details include a chamfered plinth course, raised quoins, string courses at the sill levels, a moulded cornice with a parapet, and coped gables. The listing does not include any associated farm buildings.
