Description

Orchard House is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dated 1710, featuring the initials R.J.A. on a stone lintel above the original entrance. The building has rendered walls, a slate roof, and brick chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of five bays, designed as a cross-passage house. The original entrance has been converted into a window, with a small fire-window to the right that has a chamfered and moulded surround. All other windows have plain surrounds. There is a 19th-century entrance cut between the first and second windows on the right, which features a panelled door. The sash windows have single glazing bars. The listing does not include the brick barn to the left, which has a corrugated-iron roof and is joined to the house.
