Description
Nos 1-4 Railway Cottages at Cumwhinton Station are four railway cottages built in 1875. They are made of coursed red sandstone rubble and have slate roofs. The cottages form a terrace of four, featuring paired porches. Each cottage is two storeys high and has two windows. The ground floor has three-light casements with segmental heads and a transom, while the upper floor has two-light cross-framed casements with flat heads. The porches are gabled and paired, with entrances on either side and a window between them. The cottages also have ridge end and central sticks. They were constructed for the Settle-Carlisle line of the Midland Railway and are included for their group value.
