Description

Hill House and Hill Cottage are a house and cottage dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed hammer-dressed mixed red and yellow sandstone, featuring eaves modillions and painted V-jointed quoins. The roofs are made of graduated greenslate, with both stone and rebuilt brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, while Hill Cottage has a single bay under a common roof. Hill House features a top-glazed panelled door set in a pilastered surround beneath a dentilled cornice, along with sash windows that have glazing bars, all framed in painted stone surrounds. Hill Cottage has a panelled door in a painted stone surround under a cornice, with similar windows.
