Description
The Royal Oak Inn is a public house dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of mixed red and yellow sandstone, featuring painted V-jointed quoins on a chamfered plinth. The building has a 20th-century tile roof and a stone chimney stack. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with a lower two-bay extension to the left. The front includes a 20th-century plank door and sash windows with glazing bars, all set in painted stone surrounds. The extension has similar windows, including one in a central blocked doorway. There is a mounting block at the right front, and a 20th-century brick porch on the right side, which is not of interest.
