Description
Causeway Farmhouse and adjoining barns/byres are a late 18th-century structure. The farmhouse features incised stucco walls set on a chamfered plinth, with pilastered quoins and a projecting cornice. It has a slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with lower barns/byres located to the right. The farmhouse entrance has a six-panel door framed by a reeded pilastered surround, topped with a triglyph entablature and pediment. There are two-pane sash windows in painted stone surrounds. The barns/byres include a six-panel door closest to the house, also in a painted stone surround with an open pedimented hood. To the immediate right, there are two-pane sash windows in painted stone surrounds on both floors. The ground floor has plank doors to the right, with loft doors above, all in painted stone surrounds. External stone steps lead to the loft at the far right. A right-angle extension is noted but is of no interest.
