Description
The Park Terrace Queens Hotel is a hotel dating from the early 1860s. It is constructed of painted stucco featuring broad V-jointed quoins and string courses on a champered plinth. The roof is of Welsh slate, with ashlar chimney stacks. The building is three storeys high, with five bays facing Park Terrace and eight bays on Waver Street. A 20th-century panelled door is positioned under a hoarded fanlight within a round arch, and is sheltered by a pilastered doorcase featuring a scalloped hood supported by heavily moulded console brackets. Large tripartite sash windows are set within painted stone surrounds. The hotel also has 20th-century two-pane casement windows in painted stone architraves. A similar entrance is present on Waver Street, along with matching 20th-century casement windows. A former garage extension to the right is not of significance. The hotel is listed partly for its group value with Marine Terrace, Criffel Street.
