Description

Royal Oak House and Royal Oak Cottage are a former public house and adjoining house, probably dating from the early 18th century. The original public house has whitewashed rendered walls on a painted plinth, and a sandstone slate roof with upper courses of Welsh slates. A rendered chimney stack is located on the left, and a brick chimney stack on the right. A house was built in the mid-19th century, featuring random rubble walls with flush quoins, a Welsh slate roof, and a brick chimney stack. It has a 20th-century door in a painted stone surround, and double casement windows with glazing bars; the ground floor also features 20th-century external louvred shutters. The house has a 20th-century door in a stone surround and two-pane sash windows in stone surrounds. Royal Oak Cottage is included in the listing for group value. A brick extension to the right of the house and a single-storey outbuilding to the public house are not considered to be of interest.
