Description

This early 19th-century coachman's house and stables stand adjacent to Netherby Hall. The house is of incised stucco and painted sandstone rubble construction with a Welsh slate roof and brick chimney stacks. It is a two-story, three-bay building with a 20th-century door and sash windows featuring glazing bars, set within round-arched recesses. The stables, adjoining the house to the right, are two stories high and encompass a courtyard on three and a half sides. They feature plank doors and glazed, vented windows. A square clock tower rises from the corner of the stables, distinguished by raised shaped quoins, string courses, and louvred vents, with a clock face directed towards the house. The complex was derelict at the time of the most recent survey and is listed partly for its group value in relation to Netherby Hall.
