Description
The building is a house that was formerly the lodge to The Knells, constructed in 1824, the same year as the main house. It is made of calciferous sandstone ashlar and features a graduated slate roof with a hexagonal ashlar chimney stack. The lodge is a single storey with three bays. The façade facing the road includes a central gable bay with a pediment, and the cornice wraps around to form additional pediments. The windows have plain stone surrounds and are fitted with sashes that include glazing bars. On the west gable, there is a stone gabled porch supported by square columns, featuring rounded-head arches on the sides and front, with a plain entrance surround and a 19th-century plank door.
