Description
East Lodge is a house that was formerly the lodge to the nearby Brunstock House. It was likely built between 1827 and 1833, possibly designed by Rickman for George Saul. The building is constructed from snecked yellow sandstone ashlar and features a graduated slate roof with ashlar chimney stacks. It is a single-storey structure with two bays.
The lodge has a projecting gabled entrance porch that has a slate roof and a decorated bargeboard. The entrance features a chamfered and shaped surround with a hood mould. The windows are double mullioned with pointed heads, chamfered surrounds, and hood moulds, combining mixed diamond leaded and single-pane casements. There are double octagonal chimney stacks on square bases. At the rear, there is a gabled contemporary extension made of some stone, which includes casements with glazing bars.
