Description

Houghton Hall is an early 19th-century house with stucco walls and stone dressings, topped by a slate roof with lead hips and stucco chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and five bays. The entrance features a portico supported by square and cylindrical fluted Greek Doric columns, adorned with triglyphs and a moulded cornice. The entrance surround is moulded, leading to a six-panel door with a glazed fanlight above. The windows also have moulded surrounds, with two-pane sashes and wooden shaped pelmets over the cases. The eaves are decorated with scrolled double modillions. Out-buildings are not included in this description.
