Description
Knells Lodge is a house, originally a lodge to The Knells, dating to 1824, the same time as the main house. It is constructed of calciferous sandstone ashlar with a hipped slate roof and hexagonal ashlar chimney stacks. The lodge is single-storied and three bays wide. A pedimented gabled porch with square columns and round leaded arches to the sides and front is set above plain stone surrounds to the entrance. It has two-pane sash windows with simple stone surrounds. The building is listed partly for its group value with the adjacent gate piers.
