Description

Bridge Cottage is a house from the early 19th century, constructed of painted sandstone rubble with flush painted quoins. It features a graduated greenslate roof and stone end chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and two bays, with a lower single-bay extension to the right and an outhouse to the left. The entrance consists of a six-panel door beneath a patterned fanlight, framed by a pilastered surround. There is a gabled porch with fretwork decoration. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in painted stone surrounds. The extension to the right has similar details but is made of unpainted stone. The painted brick outhouse includes pointed doorways and small pointed windows. This building is included partly for its group value with Sebergham Bridge.
