Description
Langarth is a house built in the 1830s, featuring walls made of coursed rubble from calciferous sandstone and a slate roof with a bottom course of stone slates. Designed in the Tudor style, it has two storeys and five bays with a double span. The stone porch reaches the eaves height and includes a chamfered entrance surround with a pointed arch and a hood mould, leading to an oak plank door. Above the door are three lancet windows with a gabled slate roof. The house has triple mullioned windows with moulded surrounds and hood moulds, along with diamond leaded casements. There is also a single storey, one bay extension to the right that matches the stone and slate roof of the main building. In 1847, it was the home of a member of the Losh family and was likely designed by Sarah Losh.
