Description

A terrace of three houses dating to the 1850s. The houses are constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with light-coloured brick headers, set on a chamfered plinth. The dressings are of calciferous sandstone, with V-jointed quoins to the right corner, sill bands (absent from No.3), and a cornice. The roof is slate, with a coped gable to the right and skylights. Brick chimney stacks rise from the roof, one having been rebuilt. Each house is two storeys and two bays deep, with a double-depth plan. The front doors are panelled, located to the left or right, and are framed by Ionic doorcases with overlights. Sash windows with some glazing bars are set in stone architraves; No.1 features a canted bay window. Nos. 2 and 3 have an additional through-passage and overlight within a stone surround. The interior has not been inspected. Title deeds for No.3, dated 1851, are held in the Cumbria County Record Office.
