Description
The byres south of Greenholme Lodge, likely built around 1824, were formerly part of the Edmond Castle Estate. They feature snecked red sandstone ashlar facing with raised quoins on the front, and the inner walls are constructed from English garden wall brickwork. The roofs are made of slate and corrugated iron. The buildings form three sides of a farmyard and are one and two storeys high. The ground floor and loft have plank doors with red sandstone surrounds, and there are external stone steps leading to the loft. The windows are boarded, and there are slit vents. 20th-century lean-to sheds are not included in the listing. The byres are listed partly for their group value with the nearby Greenholme Lodge.
