Description
The screen wall and gazebos located to the south of Newby Demesne Farmhouse were built in the mid-19th century, around the same time as the farmhouse itself. The wall is constructed from red sandstone rubble and features ashlar gazebos. It is a low wall topped with chamfered coping and is flanked by two circular gazebos. The gazebo on the left has a lancet opening, a moulded cornice, and a domed roof topped with a ball finial. The gazebo on the right is lower, has a moulded cornice, but lacks a roof as it appears to have been reduced in height. This structure is included for its group value with the farmhouse.
