Description
Lyne Cottage is a house that likely began as a hunting lodge for the nearby Kirklinton Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It features Flemish bond brickwork set on a sandstone plinth, topped with a slate roof that has lead hips and a brick chimney stack. The building is 1½ storeys high with two bays at the front and two storeys at the rear. The entrance is adorned with reeded pilasters, a moulded cornice, and an elliptical brick arch, leading to a six-panel door with a radial fanlight above. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, flat brick arches, and stone sills. A central mid-19th century gabled dormer is positioned above the eaves. An outhouse located at the rear is not included in the listing.
