Description
The gates, piers, wall, and lamps located to the west of the Church of St Cuthbert serve as the entrance to the churchyard. They were likely constructed in 1845, the same year the church was rebuilt. The entrance features octagonal sandstone piers topped with moulded caps, which are flanked by a coped wall that concludes with square columns. The gates are made of cast iron with speared rails, and there are copper lamps mounted on scrolled cast iron supports. This structure is listed partly for its group value with St Cuthbert's Church.
