Description
This is a row of late 18th-century townhouses, numbered 17 to 25, situated on the east side of Kirkgate. The buildings have three slate roofs that step up with the hillside. The facades are finished with stucco, roughcast, and pebbledashing, accented by brick chimneys and projecting stone quoins, particularly noticeable on the corner at number 25, which feature V-shaped joints. There are nine sash windows on the ground floor and twelve sash windows above. A return side to the right of number 25 has two sash windows on each floor. These buildings form a group with numbers 13, 31 to 55, 38, 46 to 86 (even), 47A, and Kirkgate House.
