Nos 96 and 97 Duke Street are early 19th century buildings, dating from 1814. They are roughcast and stucco, standing three storeys tall. No 97 features a cornice, while both properties have simple wooden shop fronts. No 96, which is adjacent to the corner of No 35 Church Street, has three sash windows on each upper floor. No 97 has two sash windows on each upper floor, with the glazing bars still intact.
