Description

This milestone, located at the north-west angle of a T-junction, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of ashlar and features a square post topped with a pyramidal cap. The front face is inscribed with "To/HAILE/1 MILE," the left side reads "TO/WILTON/ - 1/2 MILES," and the right side states "TO/EGREMONT/ - MILES."
