Description

This building is a barn and byres located southeast of the house occupied by Mrs. Wallace in Burgh by Sands, dating from the early 19th century. It features cobble walls with stone dressings and a graduated hipped greenslate roof. The structure is two storeys high and has numerous bays under a common roof. There are plank doors in two segment-arched cart entrances with stone surrounds, as well as smaller plank doors in flat-arched stone surrounds and similar loft entrances above. The ground floor includes casement windows to the extreme left, wooden-slat windows, and slit vents. The barn and byres are listed partly for their group value with the farmhouse. The adjoining outbuildings are of no interest.
