Description
Orchard House is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The building features painted stucco, partly over clay, and has a graduated greenslate roof with end brick chimney stacks. It stands two storeys high and has two bays, with a three-bay extension to the right that has a lower roof line. The main entrance includes a top-glazed six-panel door set in a plain painted stone surround, topped by an ogee-headed metal lattice porch. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and are framed by painted stone architraves. The extension has two-pane and three-pane sash windows. The lower part of the side wall and the exterior wall, which is now internal, is made of clay. There is a brick extension to the left, along with further extensions to the right and some outbuildings, which are not of special interest.
