Description

The Western Chapel in the cemetery, built around 1864, is currently used as an equipment store. It features rough-dressed coursed, squared rubble on a chamfered plinth and includes buttresses. The chapel has a steeply-pitched graduated slate roof with stone copings on the gables, which are adorned with kneelers and apex crosses. The building has a Latin Cross plan and consists of a single tall storey with three bays. A lower vestry is located at the center on the west side. Both the north and south ends have doors with pointed heads, each set under a shallow gabled porch. The south porch is notable for having a single, squat, polished granite column with a foliate capital on each jamb. The windows are single-light with cusped heads, except for the projecting central east bay, which features a large, traceried window.
