Description
The lodges and gate south of Orton Park date from 1839 and have been converted into two houses. They are constructed of red sandstone rubble with a chamfered plinth and ashlar quoins, topped with graduated greenslate roofs and ashlar chimney stacks. The buildings are 1½ storeys high and consist of two bays each, featuring symmetrical lodges that flank a flattened segmental stone arch. The lodges have canted bay sash windows with glazing bars, and there are 20th-century doors on the inner sides set within 19th-century stone surrounds. Small attic windows are located at the rear.
