Description
The screen walls adjoining Kirkandrews Tower were built in 1827 and feature the initials W.G. (for Graham) above the entrance. The inner walls are partly made of brick, with facings of red sandstone rubble, and the entrance arches and dressings are crafted from red sandstone ashlar. The walls stand 3 metres high, with taller entrances projecting from the west and north walls of the tower. The central archway in the west wall is blocked, and the adjacent triple mullioned windows are also blocked. The north wall has a similarly dated entrance with a pointed chamfered arch, a string course, and a battlemented parapet adorned with moulded and chamfered merlons. The flanking walls feature a battlemented parapet and blocked triple mullioned windows.
